Sneakers????

ok i have like about 25 pairs of nike shoes uptempo overplay airforces flight and a bunch of other types and most of them have a loop on the tounge. not at the very top but in the middle with the laces. do i just ignore the loop or am i suppose to put one part of the loop then just tie the rest of the laces or do i put the last segments of the ties through the loop? just curious cus i am use to ignoring the loop abd i want to start using it lol or just figure out whats the purpose of it.
