Why.......?

whats with this mermaid craze? :) i've noticed lots of questions about how to become a mermaid, what spells are needed to become a mermaid...etc. why do people want to become a friggin fish, this i do not understand, do people want to become fish creatures to live in the ocean so that bigger marine monsters may snag them? or to be caught by a bunch of yahoo fishermen to be sold at a freakshow?...what do you people think of this whole mermaid thing? :)
