If the Empire State Building was hit by a 767 like the WTC were in 9/11, would it survive?

In one piece, definitely no. However, it probably would have a stronger chance of surviving b/c of the reasons you said. Also the WTC is very vulnerable to heat but not much to foundation issues (when a van with explosives blew up beneath, the towers didn't fall), so the ESB would be less likely to melt like ice cream.
