How can I get mold and moss off my roof shingles?

I did a lot of online research about this two years ago for our homeowners ociation, and they are very damaging to a roof so you're correct to want to remove them. They spread through the air, so if a neighboring house has them, they can spread to yours. It would be best to do some online research, rather than rely on my memory, but a light-pressure pressure washer (so you don't remove any of the shingles' surface) or garden hose and bleach or similar product to kill the plants. Use only light pressure and never aim the water under the shingles. Several sites warned against hiring pressure washers unfamiliar with washing a roof because too much pressure can damage the roof itself, and to remove any mold/mildew/lichen as soon as possible because they're damaging. Rinse after washing. Because the water will cascade down the side of your house, be sure to rinse house walls, too. Check under eaves, etc., for other spots with the plants. Wet foundation plants before cleaning the roof and rinse afterward to protect them from the chemicals. While you're up there, you can use the pressure washer/hose to clean out gutters and downspouts to maintain them and keep them more effective. There is a lot of information online and I urge you to do the research. I was surprised by what I learned.

How do you strip paint off the skirting board?

Does anyone know the best way to strip paint off the skirting board - there must be about 4 or 5 coating on them - the house is over 100 years old. If you use a chemical does it take long - if you use a power gun does it take lone - the room is 13 by 14, box room with a chimney . Should we be concerned with small pits in our granite counter top slab?

I just got my 2 1/2 mnth old puppy about 1 1/2 wks ago from a shelter and she was fine except for occasional sneezing. I want to ask this question because we have adoped a st bernard and i have 2 young kids which i am concerned about. The question is Have you ever been kissed (licked) by a slobbery dog (st bernard, mastiff, great dane. bulldog, boxer)? What did it feel like? How wet was it? The reason i want to know is because this st bernard slobbers a ton and is very affectionate (he likes to kiss your face, lips and mouth). My wife and i are ok with that and realy love the affection but i just want my 2 kids to not be alarmed or harmed by the slobber. The slobber is very overwelming and when he licks your face, lips, and mouth he leaves slobber dripping from your face! Is their anything we can do to get rid of the slobber? About 8-10 days DPO, wierd cramping....?

I don't usually cramp before my periods, I usually start on day 35 then have cramps that night and day two is like hell for me then ends morning of day 3. I am having odd cramps and twinges, I kept thinking my period would start when I wiped and nothing, my feel firmer and heavy, my are sensitive to touch and are erect more. Mother in hospital quarantine for MRSA, I refuse to visit, am I wrong?

I know this sounds terrible, but my mother has been in quarantine at our local hospital for the past week after testing positive for CA-MRSA. She'd been sick previously with Shingles (scabs might have opened up, enabling the staph to enter her already weakened body). Ever since she went into the hospital, I haven't visited, nor have my husband or children (her grandchildren) though we do call her multiple times a day to see how she is feeling and to chit-chat (she enjoys this.) Last night I received a nasty phone call from an elderly relative of mine, scolding me for not spending every free moment with my mother.."after all, you CAN wear a gown/gloves/mask..they told you you could!"..was screamed at me. My simple response was that I, myself, have had MRSA before..and its a vile, painful ordeal to go through and I don't want to get re-infected with it, nor have my husband or children infected..AND that we would see her when she was better. I was then hung up on. Am I right in doing this? I just want to keep my family healthy.

Because they get dirty and might even have tiny cracks that could cause them to really screw up the internals of your airsoft gun. hey im 16 and i have had an illness which has kept me off school for 2-3 years and my mum is great and helps me with everything and we have a great relationship but my dad and brother im frankly scared of............. my dad ive never had a good relationship with 9 he doesnt even know anything about me ie favourite colour, hobbies or anything) and we barely talk but when we do he tells me im talking crap or im being immature, i should mention as my illness keeps me home i spend alot of time alone and dont get to talk to anyone most of the day, and then other times hell swear or shout at me. im sure he has anger issues and he never spends any time with me as we have nothing in common hes a farmer, i dislike farming, hes into football im not he is the basic opposite of me and i dont know what to do cause i want a relationship with him but im thinking just give up. its also the same with my brother. healso has anger issues and swears at me ( they both push me about occasionally ) and my dad will gladly take his side in an argument as they farm together go to agricultural events together and actually have things to talk about which i dont. my brother calls me a waste of air, food and electricity making me feel bad wen part of my illness is occasional depression :(. if my mum isnt there in my family i dont exist. i spend time playing computer games as theres nothing to do which results in my brother and father calling me fat and lazy ( im not fat im in good shape) i dont know what to do should i try and have a relationship with them? or when im older basically leave the family and only keep in touch with my mum? cause ive just had enough of being treated like the runt of the family for not wanting a career in farming.......

Shingles without pain?

I just went to my doctor about a rash around my waist area and he diagnosed it as shingles. However, there is no pain involved, just itchiness. I told him that but he seemed to think it was still shingles. I've checked everywhere online and it seems that pain usually always comes before the rash, which I got a few days ago. Did I do the right thing & why do I feel so guilty?

My ex fiance of 1 mth. broke it off with no explanation why. We have been together for 7 yrs., 3 of them engaged. About 3 yrs. ago he basically did the same thing to me, broke it off out of the blue & hooked up with a married woman. This married woman just used him to get out of her divorce & 4 mth. later dumped him (Karma!). He shortly after came crawling back & 8 mths. later I made the decision to reunite with him because I loved him very much & he pulled no stops in convincing me that he had made a huge mistake & never stopped loving me & made promises that he would never hurt me like that again & then asked me to marry him. We then moved to his hometown & set up house. In the last 3 yrs. I have invested a lot to our home & intended on marrying soon. Well, as the story goes he once again for no good reason broke it off saying he needed his space. I of course new there had to be someone else on the scene & repeatedly asked him to be honest with me, which he denied continuously stating that he was not saying it was over for good, he just needed time to sort things out. I decided to give him his space with the hopes that he would decide he had made a mistake breaking it off with me but, I knew deep down there was another girl. He little by little started bringing some of my belongings to me as he lives an hr. away from where I live & still denied anything was going on. Today, something told me to take a drive out to his home & when I got there a vase filled with roses was on the table & next to it a note announcing a girls name with his last name at the end of it as if they were married & telling her that he loved her very much, how beautiful she is & he would see her later in the day. I don't need to tell you how I felt at that moment- even though I suspected it, I felt like someone had just punched me in the gut & my first reaction was to find him & rip him apart. Anger took over & I was like on auto pilot grabbing anything I had bought for us- all the curtains, bedding, you name it. I pretty much stripped the place of anything I could fit into my car & only things I had spent my own money on. There is still a lot more out there that I could not take with me (furniture). I did not call him nor have I heard from him but, I'm sure he got the message when he returned home & I'm hoping she was with him because just like the last time, I'm sure she has no clue I exist! Now I'm sitting here tonight & for some reason I'm feeling guilty for what I did because I'm really not a vindictive person & I can't just stop loving him just like that regardless, of how he feels & after all he has done to me. All he had to do is be honest with me- yes, I would of been devastated but, I wouldn't have been pinning away for him all mth. & hoping he would want me back & also, feeling like I had done something wrong to drive him away. Do you think I was right in what I did today & how can I stopped feeling so guilty? Should I not respond to any contact from him or what? Just 2 days before breaking it off with me, he was buying me flowers which he did often (it wasn't out of quilt-he can be quite the charmer) & telling me how much he loved me. What the hell is wrong with this guy- how can he just like that hook up with someone & start telling them how much he loves them when he is engaged to someone. Pack n Play binets?

We were never comfortable with the binet portion of our pack 'n' play. It seemed to sink when we laid him in it but maybe it just wasn't put together well (someone else put it together for us). I'm planning to try using it again with the next baby but if I'm not comfortable I'll probably just use the bottom portion. But we loved the changing table part and the bottom portion, we just weren't comfortable with the binet part.

I hate text walls. And I'm not quite sure what point you're trying to make. If you will read further in the Bible you will notice that it says the blackened skin is a SIGN of the curse. The black skin itself was not the curse. There are many examples of prophets in the scriptures doing things because they were led by the Lord to do so, some things that not everyone will agree with or understand. And are we really supposed to understand ALL the ways of the Lord? Probably not. As far as the African Americans and the priesthood and 1978 goes, who knows? I don't. But I'm not so sure that's what really matters anyway, other than the fact that the priesthood is given to ALL men today as long as they are worthy to receive it. Yes, God does command and counsel that we love one another and that we are all equal. I don't think the fact that African Americans couldn't hold the priesthood before 1978 was a decision out of hate or inequality, being that it was a decision from the Lord and the Lord does not hate.

first u need to check your heads and head gasket. check the oil and if it looks milky than its either a blown head gasket or head, that would cause the overheating and the dirt might actually be oil. if the hoses are getting that soft then it is getting way too hot. also could be the thermostat. is your coolant level and lower?

Any retirement fund is taxable when you take the money out. It is just deferred until then. I know you can roll your accounts sometimes from one type to another. You should discuss this with whoever holds the account - the bank, credit union, whatever. Be carefull of the investment accounts unless you really know what you are doing as you can loose/not make as much as possible. Check out some of the county, or municipal CD's as they are not taxable on the county/city tax at all and offer great rates. They aren't a retirement account but if you keep rolling them into another like CD over the years they can really add up. So think about diversifying some of your retirement money.

Have we forgotten what separation of church and state REALLY means?

Some people (particularly radical liberals) think separation of church and state means freedom FROM religion, or a complete and total absence of ALL religion in the government. But, they're ignoring the historical context in which the Establishment Clause was written. When the Founding Fathers wrote against an "establishment of religion," they were referring to a government that was comparable to the CHURCH OF ENGLAND! The reason they wrote the Establishment Clause was because that they wanted to be able to practice their religion freely and they didn't want the government to PHYSICALLY impose a different religion on them, like the CHURCH OF ENGLAND! They also didn't want a government that KILLED or PROSECUTED/PERSECUTED them for not conforming to the state religion, like the CHURCH OF ENGLAND! Therefore, the question we should ask when trying to determine if the U.S. government is violating the Establishment Clause should be, "Is the government comparable to the Church of England?" According to this criteria, putting "Under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance or putting religious symbols on government buildings is NOT a violation of separation of church and state because it's not a situation that's comparable to the Church of England. It doesn't PHYSICALLY force people to worship a state God or PHYSICALLY prevent them from practicing their own religion. Neither does it prosecute or murder people for not conforming to a state religion. I know you're going to ask me, "How would you feel if the government put 'In Allah We Trust' on our currency or if they put non-Christian symbols on the courthouse?" My answer, quite frankly, is that I don't care. As long as my government is not like the Church of England, as long as my government doesn't kill or arrest me for practicing Christianity, then I'm not going to complain about such trivial, insignificant matters like what symbols the government displays. How do you know where to put a Spanish accent mark on a vowel?

I know you're suppose to put one where ever the vowel is a little stressed like in the word "esta" and "est� " but some Spanish words have accents like the word "Tu" and "T� " sound the same, but the other has an accent! i hav 2 questions. first i always have bags under my eyes. i put lotion on them and they shrink a little bit but there still there and completly noticable. Kind of a question about "loud, bright toys"?

I am not concerned with that, Im sure it has helped add onto hyperactivity a tiny bit but as a mom of twins I needed those bright loud toys to keep them entertained from time to time. Im not saying its great to use them all the time because yeah they do need momma play time. But being happily entertained playing independantly is a great thing! I think the problem lies in mothers using these toys as teachers instead of teaching themselves. A mother can even get down on the floor and play with them in there things. I love it when my kids are happy and if a toy makes them so....so be it! I don't let them watch tv, and shoot kids so young get so much of their learning out of play...I really don't see what the harm is!

Why don't I lose weight?

For a very long time I varied from slightly to really overweight. I tried every diet. I stayed on Weight Watchers and never lost a pound. People didn't believe that I stuck to the diet, but I did. Anyway, one day, out of sheer frustration, I prayed to God. "God, I guess you must want me to be fat, because I can't lose this weight. OK God, if that's the way you want it. Thank you for my fat. With goldfish you really have to change the 1/3 of the water every week. Goldfish are unsually tougher than tropical fish, but the fancy ones are delicate. Seven goldfish in a tank are too many. I dream of rattle snakes?

Last night I had a dream about snakes lots of them! It started out like this I was at my moms house inside I looked out the back door to the yard and its almost like a jungles(medium tall gr and our tall trees). As I start to lift the blind to look out there I hear the sound of a rattle snake and this snakes tale is up in the air and it's waving almost like a warning. Then these two abnormally huge rattle snakes comes up and are hiss at each other and they start to fight. They race each other to the tallest tree in the back yard and twirl up and and they start fighting. I turn and tell my sisters and cousin to look. But than other snakes start to come and at this point we're running to my room trying to block them from coming in. Then poisonous snakes start to fall in the boxes in my room that's in my closet. So we close it but one colorful snake makes his way threw the door and the rattling of the giant snakes got louder! More snakes were coming we rushed to my moms room. Told her what's happening, she freaks! Hey. I know a lot of people think that sweats look frumpy and i know some people like the look if you can dress it right. I saw some girls yesterday who were wearing sweat pants, not the fitted kind that form to your leg, but the kind that are loose all the way through but only tight on the waist, like there was an elastic band there.
